How to Organise a Group Harley Ride

Updated: Nov 3

Over the years (more than 25 years) we have catered for many large groups. They come in many different forms and range from Corporates taking their staff for a Harley Davidson Joyride experience as transport to get to an event or as a corporate team bonding activity for large groups involving many people (30 to 100).

Don't assume we have an unlimited number of riders. We do not.

Our abilty to lift a group all at once is limited by the number of bikes and their riders that available. That number is approximately 15. To lift more people that this requires that we incorpoate bikes fitted with sidecars (that can accomodate 2 to 3 passengers). If you want to lift more numbers than this then we need to get creative.

If the group exceeds 15 to 20. Divide the group and do back to back rides. Or book some other form of transport and take the first group to a destination where they can swap over with the second group.

If the group is very large. Choose a central location from where the ride starts and finishes. Choose something like a Yarra Valley Winery, from which people can go out on a 20 minute circuit. Incorporate Harley Rides as one of several activities while others are wine tasting or doing some other activity. Get creative - there are many ways to skin a cat. Book a number of bikes over several hours that way everyone gets a ride.

To reduce cost per head. If you only have an hour - book sidecars. This is perfect for events like Chldrens Parties or end of year events. One sidecar can take up to 30 for a short 5 minute ride in an hour. This is an option we often provide for festivals and the like.

Its not uncommon that we get requests for group. They are not frequent, but they do need planning. Quite often its easy. At other time flexibity is required. We've met most requests. But when the request has exceeded our ability to lift the number requested, a little flexibility has been require by our customers.

Idea. Incorpoate other modes of transport. Book Vintage cars (note we don't organse this). Utilse Harley Rides to transport people from one activity to another. We once did this where teams were given notes and told to use their initiative to reach then next destination at which Harleys were waiting to take them to the next destination (all this was carefully choreographed).

At the end of the day - remember it is the "Harley Davidson Joyride experience" that you are sending them on. Don't get too involved in worrying what they will see - trust us they will see a lot! Whether its just 5 minutes, 1 hour or even longer - nothing is impossible. Sometimes it requires patience to take our advice and let us do the riding.
